Fiber Access Networks
Expanding Fiber Access Networks
Bringing data services to the general public has driven the development of access network infrastructure s for the past 20 years. Telephone companies and MSOs (cable operators) utilize a mixture of technologies, such as fiber optics, COAX wireless and DSL, have been developed to bring advanced consumer services to the public at an affordable price. Titan's SR technologies promise to extend the life of optical access networks for years to come.
Titan Photonics provides products to support optical network expansion for both Telco and MSO network operators.
HFC
Titan provides products used in current HFC networks (optical transmitters, return path receivers, and nodes), and is developing SR products that can offer more than 10 times the current data rate on the HFC network designs. With SR, high speed data and QAM based services and even wireless connections can be intermingled with ease and transported on existing HFC networks.
RFOG
Titan provides the CATV industry with a full line of RFoG equipment, including RFoG ONUs, CATV transmitters, EDFAs return path receivers and WDM optical components. Titan's SR technologies will enhance its RFoG product set and supports greater bandwidth and flexibility. As with the HFC solutions, SR allows the RFoG network to carry a mixture of services, content, and very high speed data on the existing PON/RFoG networks.
GPON/EPON
Titan builds WDM components, RF overlay equipment, and optical transceivers used in the GPON/EPON systems. Titan's SR systems are being deigned to overlay onto an operating EPON or GPON network without impacting their operations. This allows an operator to add "special" services to high bandwidth users, to offer QAM services and to provide cell site offloading or backhaul without replacing or reconfiguring the existing EPON/GPON network services.
