Next Generation Networks
Network Challenges
Cloud computing along with mobile “smart” applications both depend on high speed, dependable connectivity. The demand is exploding. video streaming, file sharing and social networking services are overwhelming the current network capability, and updating infrastructure piece-by-piece as needed is no longer an effective way to meet customer demand. Bandwidth and capacity need to be provided wherever and whenever a user needs it, preserving the user experience they have come to expect...AND TODAY, USERS DO NOT STAY STILL!! Operators need a new approach to allow them to add capacity very quickly to a large portion of their network, at a minimal cost. A powerful data networking solution that sufficiently handles video, data and voice on mobile devices
Titan Photonics Has the Answer
Titan Photonics delivers optical components and systems to support today's optical access networks and is perfecting a next generation transport technology to allow current network infrastructures to be upgraded (not replaced) to support capacities and content well beyond their original design limits. To achieve this and make it practical, the simplicity of the base band digital transport must be preserved and the new network services must operate on the same the physical infrastructure.
Titan's future networking technology , dubbed “FDEM” (Frequency Division Ethernet Multiplexing), operates over point-to-point, PON or HFC network topologies, giving an operator the power to create and deploy updated network services WITHOUT physically replacing the network already in place. Since SR allows multiple types of signals to be carried on the same optical wavelengths, one network can service all service needs for an area, and can be used to provide new services as they are developed. When combined with standardized WDM technologies, a single optical network can achieve more than 100GBPS Ethernet transmission speeds, can preserve legacy network technologies, and can carry native service formats to eliminate the complexities of format translation or encoding
Titan is developing this concept into its SRT family of transmission products. The SRT system is the only platform that enables wireless connectivity through FTTH or HFC networks by opening up multiple high- speed symmetrical content independent channels. Operators can now provide Cell site and Wi-Fi backhaul services with their current networks.
Titan's SRT Product Key Points
- Provide wireless connectivity on existing Access Networks to generate more revenue for operators.
- Create another dimension in RF domain for increased capacity without adding fiber and /or wavelengths.
- Simplify traditional RF design considerations by managing noise, distortions, and dispersions to allow quick and easy network deployments.
- RF switching and routing for less cost and reduced network latency.
- Overlay and co-exist with current network technologies to reduce deployment costs.
- The future proof “Add as needed” design to allow incremental upgrades.
